Calvary Fellowship has joined in and will be preparing the meals for our fifth Saturdays. Wow, did they have the surprise with a large crowd of 53 guests. But what fun we had serving baked chicken breasts, baked beans, potato salad, rolls, dessert and hot dogs to the children. Thank you for being a part of the SCSK!

OH MY! We served 73 guests today. Westminster Presbyterian did a great job preparing the meal of barbecued chicken sandwiches, slaw and dessert. We are concerned that there is such a great need in our community but how wonderful that the churches have united together for such a good cause.

First United Methodist Church prepared ham, green beans, salad, rolls and dessert. We had 50 guests and again lots of second helpings.

Our menus are reflecting the warm weather. Magnolia Church of Christ prepared barbecued chicken, green beans, salad, rolls and cake. We had 58 guests and lots of refills.

Saturday May 15, 2010

This was a first for us. The fellowship hall at FPC was reserved for an in-house function so the Soup Kitchen moved to the courtyard. The weather was a little muggy but no rain. FPC grilled hot dogs and served them with cookies prepared by the Temple. What a fun event.

Wow! Grilled chicken, baked potatoes, lima beans, rolls and dessert. First United Methodist Church prepared this wonderful meal that served 44 guests.

We had 39 guests that enjoyed the ham and cheese sandwiches, potato salad, cole slaw, fruit salad and cake prepared by the women of First Baptist Church.

Trinity Episcopal used the food donated by the Boy Scouts and prepared a great meal of chicken over rice, vegetables, bread and dessert. Forty-three guests were served. Thank you Trinity and the Boy Scouts.

Lifewise prepared a wonderful chicken noodle casserole, peas, slaw, rolls and served brownies with ice cream. We had 52 guests.
