Great minds must think alike as First United Methodist also make turkey and ham sub sandwiches. These were served with broccoli salad, chips, fruit and apple pie. We had a large group of 63 guests with one person being a 'special' guest from Athens.

Westminster Presbyterian made turkey and ham sandwiches and macaroni salad. They paired this with pickle spears, chips and ice cream sandwiches. Great way to wind down our summer. We had 57 guests.

Saturday August 21, 2010

Edgemont Methodist has joined our group of participating churches. They grilled hamburgers for our 40 guests and served them with baked beans and potato salad. Dessert was provided by The Temple. Thanks!

Wow, Magnolia Church of Christ made a Mexican casserole that had the kitchen smelling great! They served this to our 62 guests along with a salad, chips and chocolate pudding.

Social Security Department

A big thanks to the Department of Social Security for their food drive. The Soup Kitchen received boxes of canned goods that will be used by the participating churches in their meal preparations.

First Baptist prepared ham and cheese sandwiches and served them with cole slaw, potato salad, fruit salad and dessert. Great meal for a hot summer day and our 47 guests.

Although this was Friday the 13th good food was prepared by First United Methodist for our 42 guests. The menu included chicken, vegetables, bread and dessert.

The men from Trinity Episcopal grilled hamburgers today for our 56 guests. Baked beans and cupcakes were also served.

Our menu today was macaroni and cheese, ham, slaw, rolls and cupcakes. Trinity Episcopal prepared this meal for our 47 guests.

Saturday July 31, 2010

We are so glad that Calvary Fellowship cooks for us on the fifth Saturday of the month when they occur. They prepared spaghetti, green beans, corn, peach cobbler and ice cream. Forty guests braved the extreme heat to eat with us.

We are always so glad to have Life Wise participate in the Soup Kitchen. They prepared hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and served cookies and ice cream for dessert. We had 46 guests.

First United Methodist prepared chicken fingers for the 42 guests. Veggies and dessert rounded out the meal.

Westminster Presbyterian cooked up a big pot of chili for our 56 guests. Pear salad and cookies were also served.
